Between this road of slow and the delay spray, progress by the mob is very slow.Įvery other useful space on the map is filled with random blue towers/amps, just to keep the space free from beacons. In addition, after my first trap and between the next trap sections, I've just put some plain jane level 30 white/blue/red (3/4/1) gems into every space between the traps. I let the game run with the "delay spray" until it gets close to my orb, then I switch to the kill gem (same location - the amps are there for the kill gem, not the delay spray). The kill gem is surrounded by amps, even red/yellow. So far, at wave 262, I have three main traps, one "delay spray" of red/white/blue (1/4/3), and one "kill gem" of yellow/white/red (3/4/1). The only time I don't swap out a talisman gem with a higher level one is if the lower level one is a "+1 to all skills" and the higher level one isn't. My talismans are all maxxed out power, with levels from 82-100. I should have done that this time, but I forgot, though it doesn't really matter. I haven't put any skills into traps which I normally don't use. All of my skills are in the top row, the left side attacks, the right side skills, the tower skill at the bottom, and red/black/yellow/white. You also start getting shitloads of exp for the freeze and curse spells you cast on the giant glob of monsters in the middle of the screen as well (by wave 999 if you wait that long, you should have enough in there for a few hundred thousand xp per casting of either spell)ĭoing this at player level 1090 or so. I'm not really sure how that's calculated, if they compound or add - but x4 or x16 is still worth twenty minutes after the two hour session you just had. It is like 20 minutes more time, but you usually hit at least 4 sparks, if you're using 40+ gems on them, that over 100% xp bonus for the whole battle each time. While doing this, if you have enough processing power to use a gem in a tower, you can shoot down the first few spires and flying ones to get some shadow cores, too. This will allow you to survive a couple minutes, which lets you drop those big gems on the xp sparks. When you get to the end of a run on endurance (the point where you would quit) take your gems out of your towers (except for maybe a big single target kill gem, or a multitarget(meaning has a chain hit component) set to structure), move your mana trap to near your orb, put a few big (40+) straight upgraded gems in your inventory, crank up the speed to x9 if you haven't already, and fire all remaining waves (ctrl click the side bar) this will keep your freeze spell refreshed fast enough that you can permafreeze most incoming monsters over your mana trap. I was worried the game might crash so placed all my gems in inventory and allowed the game to end. I did have target "Nearest to orb" set, but for some reason at this point my Gems had ideas of their own. I only stopped because my graphics was glitching and the towers did not appear to be firing or when they did fire - they appeared to be targeting structures mainly. I was enraging Swarmling waves to 999 mobs and to around 500 with Reavers.

I was very conservative with enraging waves, only starting around wave 30, with 2 level 1 gems and also not enraging Giants waves.Įventually I had 4 traps in a row, surrounded by amps and quite a few kill towers as well. I also used a couple of slow gems in towers to help out the traps. Keep amp gems around 2 levels behind the main gem in order to keep mana requirements manageable. I concentrated on getting 6 Amps around my trap as soon as I could. I did not try gem weaving, but you should probably do it if you know how. Combined to Level 4 gemĪmp Trap gem was: Red, Orange Amp Kill gem was: Red, Yellow Combined to Level 4 gem Kill gem was: 1 Red, 3 white, 4 yellow. Initially all I had down was a trap and a kill tower. Not sure when I started enraging waves but probably not much before wave 30. 2k mana is not enough to get set up from wave 1, so the idea is to just survive and then slowly build up the infrastructure.
